What we collect

Our enquiry form collects:

• Your name, phone number and home postcode.
• Your email address, if you choose to provide it.
• The service you select and any message you choose to write.
• The confirmation you give about using your details to respond.

Your name, phone number, postcode and confirmation are required to send the online form. Email and a written message are optional. You can also contact Bill by phone or email.

How we use your details

We use your details to reply, check the location of your home, discuss the work, arrange a visit or quotation and keep relevant records of the enquiry and any resulting work.

When you ask for a quotation or arrange work, we use the information needed to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or to carry out that contract. This is the contract basis under data protection law.

For general questions and necessary enquiry records, our legitimate interest is running the business and responding to people who contact us. Website security and spam prevention also support our legitimate interest in keeping the website and enquiry service working safely.

The form confirmation records your understanding that we will respond to your enquiry. It does not sign you up for marketing.

Website hosting and enquiry forms

Netlify provides website hosting and processes online form submissions on our behalf. Your submitted details are sent to Netlify and may be stored in the website account so BMT can respond.

The hosting service may also process technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver the website, maintain security and prevent spam. Information may be processed outside the UK through the hosting provider's infrastructure. Contact BMT if you would like details about the providers and arrangements used for your enquiry.

This website does not include optional analytics or advertising tracking. If we introduce those features, we will update this notice and provide any required choices.

Who receives information

Your information may be handled by the providers needed to operate the website, process enquiries and manage business correspondence. Information may also be shared with professional advisers or authorities where necessary for records, legal obligations or a legal claim.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as it is needed to deal with your request and any resulting work. The length of time depends on whether work goes ahead, the records needed for that work, and any accounting, legal or dispute-related requirements. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted.
